How long does an inspection take?
Most homes take two to four hours on site, depending on size, age and add-ons. Your full report arrives within 24 hours.
Should I test for radon in Minnesota?
Yes. The Minnesota Department of Health recommends testing every home, and radon levels vary house to house even on the same street. A short-term test runs at least 48 hours, so book it with your inspection and the results come back with your report.
Can you inspect in winter when the roof is covered in snow?
Yes. We inspect year-round. When snow covers the roof we view it from the ground and ladder where safe, check the attic for frost and ice-dam signs from inside, and note anything we couldn't see so you can follow up in spring.
Do I need to be there?
We recommend coming for the last 30 minutes so we can walk you through the big items. If you can't, the report and a quick call cover everything.
Can you fix things from another company's inspection report?
Yes. Attach the report in the fix list above or bring it to your booking, and we'll quote the items you choose.
What's a sewer scope and do I need one?
A camera goes down the main sewer line to look for roots, cracks and sags. It's worth it for older homes, homes with mature trees in the yard, or any house where the line has never been checked.
